I have an OKU wife and two adult children living on their own. I was reduced to being a freelance construction worker due to health and my wife’s deteriorating condition. Then came the pandemic, it hit me so hard that I had problems maintaining my livelihood. There was nothing that I could do to make ends meet and I was very depressed up to a point of seeking medication from the hospital to keep it under control. It was during that time I was referred to KSK by a friend which I am very thankful of. Now, I am able to receive regular food provisions deliveries and earn a steady income from the Empowerment programme to pay for my other expenses. I love the flexibility of the work as I am able to make sure I have enough money and time to take care of my wife."
